Bruno Sarmento, work package leader in RESTORE project, has recently integrated the Programming Committee of the 48th Annual Meeting of the Controlled Release Society. This meeting will be held virtually this year, from July 25-29, and is an opportunity to discuss and lead forward the RESTOREs ground-breaking work on the design of smart nanoenabled 3D matrices for biological agents delivery and cartilage repair.

The Controlled Release Society is the most important scientific society dedicated to the controlled release of bioactive compounds, with a focus on transversal areas of health sciences. Tackling “breakthrough delivery science”, this event is clearly in the roadmap of RESTORE’s strategy for dissemination of our innovative findings and developments smart matrices.

In fact, RESTORE’s participation in this meeting will be a unique opportunity to discuss and lead forward the ground-breaking work on the design of novel and smart nanoenabled 3D matrices for the strategic delivery of biological agents in cartilage repair. Bruno Sarmento stated that “being part of this committee is an honor and the recognition of the remarkable contributions of our research work, to the drug delivery and nanomedicine field”. For the researcher, “more than a challenge, organizing such an important event in this field is the opportunity to get inspired by its peers, staying up-to-date and look forward to novel and fruitful collaborations”.
