Stimuli-responsive nanobiomaterial tuned to physical stimulus
Clinicians are faced with a lack of strategies for optimal cartilage regeneration and look forward for 3D matrices with capabilities beyond tissue biocompatibility and biomimetism. RESTORE is exploring stimuli-responsive nanobiomaterials with the ability to enhance cartilage regeneration via external remote stimulation. These external stimuli efficiently penetrate biological tissues in a non-invasive way, enabling the control of the extracellular environment, and promoting a heightened and favourable physiological cell response. Once defined the ideal conditions in which the remote-controlled stimuli-responsive nanobiomaterials have a safe and improved effect, RESTORE will also incorporate them into the 3D matrices
